A Girl That Plays Video Games

Alright, guys, I’m just gonna jump right to it. My name is La’Naiya Chisolm and I’m 17 years old. Now your probably thinking wow she’s bold just starting like that. Truth is I’m not I can’t find a way to start things because I overthink way too much and always second guess myself (hint the title.) But not this time, I’m gonna be straight with you I’m just a senior in high school. I’m not your typical high school senior. For one I invest way too much of my time in my family, writing books for self-enjoyment, and playing video games. (Yes, you read that correctly I play video games. And I’m not talking about those romantic video game stories like Episode, or Love Island (even though they’re really good). I’m talking about RPG’S, Action, Action-adventure, Simulation, etc. Now there’s not much to know about me because honestly I’m a simple person; however I will tell you that you should stick around and read my blog. Why should you do that? Well, I’m about to tell you. I know there’s a bunch of blogs, podcasts, and vlogs about Video Games but I’m going to give you a different perspective. For example, there are not many people who are interested in video games that were created before the PS3 was invented. This means they’re missing out on all the good games like Sonic the Hedgehog and Donkey Kong 64. And this is where I differ from a lot of other kids in high school I actually know about the games before the 2000s I’m talking about the original Mario Brothers, X-men, Streets of Rage, Mega Man, etc. Those were the games I grew up playing. I wasn’t born until 2002 but my childhood consisted of those games thanks to my two older brothers. I have them to thank for my knowledge of video games they introduced me to a whole different world. And it’s actually made me who I am today. What I’m really trying to tell you is that you won’t be reading about games that a typical teenager would play. You’ll be reading about games like Devil May Cry, Resident Evil and The Legend of Zelda; Therefore you have to stick around to find out what I have to say about it. I will also say one thing I will be giving my own opinion and there also will be information from other people in the world. I’ve researched numerous games you’ll hear about in this blog in which have significance to me. I wanted to dig a little deeper and share that information with I’ve learned with all of you. Let’s be real I know that there are a bunch of games out there you guys are dying to find out about and for all you know I could be talking about that exact game. So sit back and grab some popcorn, snacks and nice refreshing cold beverage cause this is sure to keep your interest. And if this is not something that will keep you interested then just keep reading cause you may learn something about one of the games you may not have known.

Final Fantasy VII

This is a game that is special and I’m not the only one who thinks so. Carrie Gouskos from gamespot.com shares the same perspective as me. Cloud’s interactions with other characters and the antagonist make the story so special. That’s her own words and I agree with her. There’s nothing better than playing/ watching a game and seeing the characters interact with each other they way they do because it adds depth and emotion to the story and it makes you want to crave more. Also according to Super Eyepatch Wolf from YouTube it transformed the way people saw JRPG’S. For anyone who doesn’t know what it means they’re role playing games that are from Japan. In his video he states that people weren’t all that interested in the concept of JRPG’S before FFVII was created. I can’t say he isn’t correct because well I wasn’t around to witness those games but that doesn’t mean I never got a chance to play any of them. Another thing that is so important is that it needs to grab your attention, and Final Fantasy does exactly that. In Sarah LeBoeuf words FFVII jumped straight into the action not wasting time on character exposition and the plot, as more layers were peeled back the story became more and more involved. With each new location you went to and explored the plot thicken but it never felt to overly complicated or overwhelming and just when you thought you had the game figured out the story twists and it leaves you guessing and having your attention from the very first battle to its last. And that’s what makes this game so good you never had a dull moment. Now that I have your attention I’m going to need you to jump over to my channel and subscribe. Next week we’ll talk about a game that not only left the players crying but it made them rethink everything in their life. Until next time.
