Detroit: Become Human

Farewell

What’s up guys I’m back. It’s been a wonderful time talking to you all and informing you of why these are good games that you guys should play. But today’s the last time you’ll be hearing from me. Some of you are probably like thank god and others are probably upset about me leaving. I’ve had so much fun talking about God of War, Resident Evil, and Final Fantasy. These games mean so much to me and I’m glad I got to share them with you. So for the last time read my rant about Detroit: Become Human

Last Discussion

2038. Detroit, Michigan. City of the past and future. And the rising of some machines named ‘Deviants’, disobeying their code and choosing to have free will. Follow through three protagonist androids: Kara, a housemaid android, Markus, an assistant and carer, and Connor, a specialized police investigation model. Choose through conflicting choices and experience a branching story through the eyes of a machine and go through a world who wants to stop them from being who they really are. The fate of the characters, Detroit, and the whole world depend on your choice. What sacrifices will you make to become free? What sacrifices will you make to be truly human? As this is the

As this being the last post I’m going to leave it up to you guys to figure out why the game is a good game. I know I’m suppose to be the one informing you, but where going to try something different. I hope you all can forgive me for doing y’all like this but it is what is. Till we meet again. I’m La’Naiya Chisolm and this is me signing off.

GOODBYE GUYS

The Legend Of Zelda: Breath of The Wild

Summary of Game

What’s up guys I’m back. Last week I gave Uncharted 4 some insight and tried to give it the hype that it deserves. This week has been very stressful for me. I feel like each day my energy is being drained but I know eventually I’ll be back to me in no time. Enough about me lets jump into it.

Breath of The Wild is an adventure game in which players assume the role of Link on a quest to stop a growing evil in the land of Hyrule. As players explore the open-world environment, they can forage for materials, explore shrines, and engage in melee-style combat against fantastical creatures (e.g., goblins, skeletons, centaurs). Players use swords, axes, clubs, and bows to defeat enemies that generally disappear amid puffs of smoke.

Why The Game Is Good

It’s a truly magical work of art that embodies Nintendo’s unique talents, and a game that everyone should play regardless of their affinity for the series’ past.

By Peter Brown from gamespot.com

For those of you that don’t know Nintendo’s known for their video games like Mario Bros, Zelda, Pokémon, Donkey Kong, etc. Meaning that every-time Nintendo comes out with a new game, Nintendo fans go ballistic. I can’t blame them though the games are amazing. Anyway, Breath of The Wild is one of the most beautiful games Nintendo has produced in the last 3 years.

From the scenery of the environment to the realistic features of some of the characters and the animals the game is just extraordinary. Another good thing is that if you’ve never played any of the previous games it doesn’t matter because you won’t be missing out any key information.

Not only is it vast, beautiful, and filled with a diverse set of locations from grassy fields to craggy alpine mountains, but it follows surprisingly realistic rules that let you pull off solutions so intuitive that you might be surprised they actually work.

By Jose Otero from IGN.com

Those of you that like open-world games this is perfect game for you. You get to travel around the world You’re not rushed you can choose when you want to focus on the main storyline and explore as much as you like. Let’s also not forget all the time and dedication that the creators took out of their lives to make the graphics and details in every single element of this game.

Let’s not also forget there are rules you have to follow (Boring Right?) but surprisingly the rules on this game aren’t too strict so there are things you could do that you normally couldn’t. Don’t believe me go find out for yourselves.

Providing a huge world to explore and opportunities to test your skills at every corner.

By Brett Molina from USA TODAY

As mentioned in the previous paragraph exploring is a big part of this game. This makes this a great game because in all The Legend of Zelda’s you play as a character named Link and you have to travel around the world and fight off evil and make sure Zelda is safe. For those of you that don’t know Link is the main character in every game and Zelda is the princess, you have to protect at all costs.

Your not her bodyguard or anything but you protecting her by making sure no evil gets to her. Zelda is known for it’s diverse in areas that you travel to get to the end of the game and save Hyrule. Overall what I’m trying to say is that the environment adds to the aspects of the game and makes it more interesting to play.

I might have gotten a little bad at this but I’m writing for me now. I’m not worried about someone who doesn’t like this because certain things I’ve said or didn’t say. This is simply me giving my opinion on why the game is good and having resources to back up my opinions. If you can’t respect that then that’s okay. This blog isn’t made for you, it’s not made for anyone. I just wanna give my own opinion for once and not care what anyone has to say. If you’ve enjoyed this week’s blog and the ones before that then thank you for your support and I’ll catch you guys next week.

Uncharted 4

A Summary of The Game

What’s up guys I’m back. It’s your girl Naiya. Since the last time I’ve reached out to you guys, I’ve been having some difficulty writing. I’ve hit writer’s block and have no idea what to say. Also last week we talked about God of War 4 and I gave you some guys insight on the game to try to persuade you to play it. Therefore buckle up and enjoy reading my rant about Uncharted 4.

Set three years after his last adventure, Nathan Drake has now settled down with his wife, Elena Fisher and left the treasure hunting scene behind. That all changes, however, when Nate’s long thought-to-be dead brother, Sam tracks him down and asks for his help to find the long lost treasure of Pirate Captain Henry Avery. Together with Sully, Nate and Sam embark on a globe-trotting adventure, one last time.

Why The Game is Good

Graphics: It looks better the further you get into it; everything from the environmental details to the characters faces

By: Nick Steinberg from m.goliath.com

For probably the third and most likely not the last time graphics have once again made an entrance. I’ve stressed this before and I’ll stress it again, so the people in the back listen up. Graphics are what makes a video game interesting and what grabs your attention the most. Also, let’s be honest if it weren’t for the producers and directors finding people that know how to do good animation, color scheming, and designing overall we would be playing games that look like they’re from the mid-80s early 90s. Now let’s be honest no one, not a single soul wants to play a video game that looks extremely blurry and pixel.

The gameplay is faultless, with new mechanics blending seamlessly with the classic mix of gun-play & puzzle-solving, climbing, and exploring

By: James Ramsay from gq.magazine.co.uk

If you have never played any of the Uncharted’s before, your gonna be oblivious to what I’m talking about. Uncharted is known for all its puzzle-solving you have to accomplish to get to where you need to be. From the moment you start to the time you finish your always in gunfights with someone, always climbing buildings and swinging from them as well. If your not careful it’s goodbye Nathan Drake and hello the previous checkpoint. Now if you can produce a game where you can mix gun-play, puzzle-solving, climbing, and exploring all into one and it’s amazing and multiple copies of the game are sold just about everyday then your doing something right and that’s exactly what Uncharted did.

If it were a film it would surely get nominated for those Oscars given before the main festivities the ones that honor technological and artistic craftsmanship

By: Chris Plante from theverge,com

There is one thing that we need to note about Uncharted 4 is that it’s artistic craftsmanship is truly outstanding. Everything about the game and how it shifts from one scene to the next. It really does feel like a movie. It draws you in and then there’s plot twists at almost every corner. It also make you feel emotions for each character. I would honestly nominate this if it was a film as well. And if this isn’t enough reason for the game is good then I don’t know what else I can tell you . So I suggest you give the game a try. Also, don’t forget to come back next week and see what game I’ll be talking about next.

God of War 4

A Summary of The Game

What’s cooking good looking( yes I’m talking to you). Last week we talked about Resident Evil 4 and all its glory. Okay, maybe not glory but why the game is good. I’ve actually replayed the game a few days before and after writing the blog. It was such an amazing experience but were not here for RE4 it’s God Of War 4. So grab some snacks and lets dive in.

Kratos, the God of War, has defeated the Gods of Olympus and has started his life anew, in one of the Nine Realms of Norse Mythology: Midgard; he now has a son named Atreus, whom he had with his late wife Faye. Together, Kratos and Atreus travel across The Realms to scatter Faye’s ashes from the highest peak in all the land and handle the challenges that come at them.

Why The Game is Good

God of War 4 is an action-adventure game developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It’s the eighth installment in the series, the eighth chronologically, and the sequel to 2010’s God of War III. God of War was one of the first games that was made in 2005 that got me interested in the gaming world.

Experts will love the infinite ways they can approach any given battles

By: Sid Shuman from blog.eu.playstation.com

For those of you that don’t know God of War is a fighting game where you travel around to different areas gathering information from each place you go. Which eventually leads up to the overall purpose of the game. It’s not like your typical fighting game because the main character is a mythological god aka the God of War ( explains the title).

The upgrade systems driving the combats are huge, letting you build out both Kratos and Atreus abilities, gear, and armour

By: Leon Hurley

For people that know when playing games involving fighting people or creatures, you have to own at least 1-3 weapons and need fighting skills. Without them, your chopped liver, no one wants to be chopped liver unless you just don’t care. Anyway, because there’s a system that helps the character(s) grow as you progress through the story shows that there not trying to set you up for failure. They want you to succeed and enjoy the environment of the game. Let’s face the truth without being able to upgrade Kratos the game would be trash. You can’t play as a God and not have the ability to upgrade him that’s stupid.

The control system and the finely realized graphics collide to make a world that is just incredibly fun to inhabit

By: Andrew Griffin from independent.co.uk

As I’ve said before in order to have a good game you need graphics. Without graphics the game would be just straight trash. Graphics are what make you interested in the game. As for the control system it’s basically how everything functions. Add those two together and you have the development of one of the most beautiful games made throughout the whole God of War series.

Resident Evil 4

A Summary of The Game

Guess who’s back and better than ever… It’s your girl Naiya. Since the last time I’ve reached out to you guys, I’ve been having some difficulty figuring out how I was gonna do the next blog. What colors to use, and how to keep you guys interested. I’ve come to realize that I should just be myself and not try to make you guys like me. If you want to view my blog you’ll read it and if not then you’ll just slide right on by. Also last week we talked about The Last Of Us and I gave you some guys insight on the game to try to persuade you to play it. Therefore buckle up and enjoy reading my rant about Resident Evil 4.

Six years have passed since the viral outbreak in Raccoon City. The Umbrella Corporation has gone bankrupt due to a crash in stock sales after it is revealed that they are to blame for the incident. One of the few survivors, Leon S. Kennedy, has been trained by U.S. Special Forces to protect the President of the United States and his family. His first day on the job, he is sent to a remote location in Europe to retrieve the President’s daughter, Ashley Graham. Awaiting Leon is a slew of unspeakable creatures, a “curse” that attacks the body, rendering the victim powerless to the control of sadistic, inhuman forces that would destroy everything Leon holds dear. Now, he must rescue Ashley and uncover a plot that could lead to ultimate global destruction. His time is running out, and a few familiar faces may well be his undoing.

Leon and Ashley

Why It’s a Good Game

Resident Evil 4 is a third-person shooter survival horror video game developed & published by Capcom Production Studio 4. It’s similar to The Last Of Us where you have to control a character, travel around in a post-apocalyptic world, search for food and shelter, and fight for your life against zombies, or some creature that’s not human. Similar but they’re completely different. The characters, scenery, action, emotions, graphics all different. And for those that don’t know Leon Kennedy is one of the most loved Resident Evil characters that has been made. Anyhow, let’s talk about why the game is good.

The ability to upgrade your weapons: Nothing was more exciting then when you fully upgraded your auto shotgun and saw how much power it had on your enemies.

By: NED from wgrd.com

Who doesn’t like the chance to be able to upgrade your weapon and turn it into something badass. Imagine having a crappy AK-47 where it keeps getting jammed and the trigger doesn’t work then giving it an upgrade, having it customized the way you want with all the main functioning parts on it working. That would be beautiful right? Well, that’s the exact same feeling you get playing RE4 knowing that you’ll have a better chance at surviving and protecting yourself.

The Unity of Horror and Action: the action lies within the weapon variety, fight scenes, and plot points. the horror elements are mixed throughout relying more in the intensity of the situation rather than isolated scares

David White from gamepur.com

There’s nothing better than when you’re watching a good action movie or playing a good action game and something scary comes out of nowhere to grab your attention. Unless you don’t like scary things then never mind. It’s meant to scare you and make you want to hide in a corner but at the same it wants you to anticipate every move that is being taken and find out what’s about to happen. Combine those and you get RE4 in a nutshell.

What’s to be seen in the game

It’s got god-tier counter design & pacing: consistently balances its tense encounter with easier almost leisurely encounters, it keeps this remarkable ebb and flow throughout the vast majority of its runtime.

John Reeves from doublejump.co

Lastly, let’s give a round of applause to a remarkable thing called pacing. Without pacing every video game, movie or TV show made would be horrible. There would be no sense of balance and everything would be all over the place it’s neither fun or attractive. RE4 pacing is so balanced, transitioning from playing the game to a cut scene to being thrown in the middle of a fight just connects the moral and plot of the game. And if this isn’t enough reason for the game is good then stop living under a rock because you’re going to miss out. So I suggest you give the game a try. Also, don’t forget to come back next week and see what game I’ll be talking about next. Peace (throws up peace sign)

Just having fun with lasers

The Last of Us

A Summary of The Game

What’s up guys, I’m back. In last week’s blog, you got to learn a little about me and learn what my purpose for the blog is. You also learned about one of the ten games I will be talking about these next 9-10 weeks. I also noticed I forgot to give a summary of the game, and for that, I apologize.

Twenty years after a fungal infection obliterated most of the U.S. population and turned the victims into infected monstrosities, a man named Joel finds himself traveling through what’s left of the US with a girl named Ellie who may just have the answer to bringing mankind back to life; however, this isn’t easy for either of them, since Joel has been left almost permanently bitter after the death of his daughter, Ellie is distrusting of him, and they aren’t the only ones trying to survive through these desperate times.

Why It’s a Good Game

The Last of Us is an action-adventure survival horror game developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Computer Entertainment in 2013. Meaning that it’s a game where you’re controlling a character and your traveling around in a post-apocalyptic world looking for food and shelter and fight for your life against zombies, some in-humane creature, and other humans(survival of the fittest). As fun as that sounds it’s not why it’s good even though that’s part of it. “It’s good because it encapsulates that innate will to survive like few examples of its kind can so much aspire to.” from Vice.com written by Gavin Mctlendry. This stands out because the main goal is surviving and protecting Ellie. Did I forgot to mention there aren’t any zombies(gasps in shock)… Just kidding “The infected come in various levels of cordyceps: runners, stalkers, bloaters, and most notably clickers”. Also written by Gavin Mctlendry. This adds to why it’s a great game because it sets itself apart from being just another zombie game. Their zombies but they’re portrayed differently than how other games are.

Let’s not forget that to have a good game you need a good soundtrack, great graphics, and overall the gameplay. That’s why this game is loved. Dave Newman from medium.com agrees; in his words “The game is truly significant in every way: it has an outstanding soundtrack, amazing high budget graphics, and flawless game-play.” This game outdid almost every other high budget, AAA game ever released. I believe it the graphics that game has and the color scheme and how beautifully it transitions from one scene to the next. I would say it outdid every game created in 2013.
Also, with this game, you didn’t have to rush to finish and didn’t have so many tasks. You could take your time and only really had to keep your focus on one particular thing. Samuel Horti from techradar.com noticed that as well and wrote: “You weren’t being given missions; it was vague and in the minute to minute direction, and didn’t tease the player too much letting them get to where they needed to on their own”. And if this isn’t enough reason for why the game is good then you need to stop living under a rock because your gonna miss out. So I suggest you give the game a try. Also don’t forget to come back next week you wouldn’t want to miss out on one of the best games made in 2005 and still holds up to it’s greatness 15 years.

A Girl That Plays Video Games

Alright, guys, I’m just gonna jump right to it. My name is La’Naiya Chisolm and I’m 17 years old. Now your probably thinking wow she’s bold just starting like that. Truth is I’m not I can’t find a way to start things because I overthink way too much and always second guess myself (hint the title.) But not this time, I’m gonna be straight with you I’m just a senior in high school. I’m not your typical high school senior. For one I invest way too much of my time in my family, writing books for self-enjoyment, and playing video games. (Yes, you read that correctly I play video games. And I’m not talking about those romantic video game stories like Episode, or Love Island (even though they’re really good). I’m talking about RPG’S, Action, Action-adventure, Simulation, etc. Now there’s not much to know about me because honestly I’m a simple person; however I will tell you that you should stick around and read my blog. Why should you do that? Well, I’m about to tell you. I know there’s a bunch of blogs, podcasts, and vlogs about Video Games but I’m going to give you a different perspective. For example, there are not many people who are interested in video games that were created before the PS3 was invented. This means they’re missing out on all the good games like Sonic the Hedgehog and Donkey Kong 64. And this is where I differ from a lot of other kids in high school I actually know about the games before the 2000s I’m talking about the original Mario Brothers, X-men, Streets of Rage, Mega Man, etc. Those were the games I grew up playing. I wasn’t born until 2002 but my childhood consisted of those games thanks to my two older brothers. I have them to thank for my knowledge of video games they introduced me to a whole different world. And it’s actually made me who I am today. What I’m really trying to tell you is that you won’t be reading about games that a typical teenager would play. You’ll be reading about games like Devil May Cry, Resident Evil and The Legend of Zelda; Therefore you have to stick around to find out what I have to say about it. I will also say one thing I will be giving my own opinion and there also will be information from other people in the world. I’ve researched numerous games you’ll hear about in this blog in which have significance to me. I wanted to dig a little deeper and share that information with I’ve learned with all of you. Let’s be real I know that there are a bunch of games out there you guys are dying to find out about and for all you know I could be talking about that exact game. So sit back and grab some popcorn, snacks and nice refreshing cold beverage cause this is sure to keep your interest. And if this is not something that will keep you interested then just keep reading cause you may learn something about one of the games you may not have known.

Final Fantasy VII

This is a game that is special and I’m not the only one who thinks so. Carrie Gouskos from gamespot.com shares the same perspective as me. Cloud’s interactions with other characters and the antagonist make the story so special. That’s her own words and I agree with her. There’s nothing better than playing/ watching a game and seeing the characters interact with each other they way they do because it adds depth and emotion to the story and it makes you want to crave more. Also according to Super Eyepatch Wolf from YouTube it transformed the way people saw JRPG’S. For anyone who doesn’t know what it means they’re role playing games that are from Japan. In his video he states that people weren’t all that interested in the concept of JRPG’S before FFVII was created. I can’t say he isn’t correct because well I wasn’t around to witness those games but that doesn’t mean I never got a chance to play any of them. Another thing that is so important is that it needs to grab your attention, and Final Fantasy does exactly that. In Sarah LeBoeuf words FFVII jumped straight into the action not wasting time on character exposition and the plot, as more layers were peeled back the story became more and more involved. With each new location you went to and explored the plot thicken but it never felt to overly complicated or overwhelming and just when you thought you had the game figured out the story twists and it leaves you guessing and having your attention from the very first battle to its last. And that’s what makes this game so good you never had a dull moment. Now that I have your attention I’m going to need you to jump over to my channel and subscribe. Next week we’ll talk about a game that not only left the players crying but it made them rethink everything in their life. Until next time.
